  • Our Riata Winter Barrel Bonanza Open class will be run as a 4D with 1⁄2 second splits - if we receive 151 or more entries, then it will be paid on a 5D. Unless otherwise stated. Please refer to specific flyer details for exceptions.

  • The Novice Horse will be a 2D with full second splits. To be eligible, Novice Horse must not have won $1,000 or more in their barrel racing career, cannot have been entered/competed on in rodeos, and may only be nominated for a maximum of two consecutive years by the same rider.

  • The Novice Youth is for 12 and under as of January 1, 2019. Novice Youth is based on skill level as such the class is designed for beginners not Junior Rodeo competitors.

  • The Peewee will be offered ONLY IF THERE ARE 10 OR MORE ENTRIES and is for 8 and under as of January 1, 2019.

  • If you enter as a Peewee or Novice Youth you may NOT ENTER IN ANY OTHER DIVISION on that day.

  • You may roll your time from or to any class. Roll times must be within same day (no rolling from day to day unless otherwise noted).

  • Entries close when announced or posted. Listen for entry closure times at the event.

  • Exhibitions available on a first come first serve basis. They are $5 each for non-timed and $8.

  • Fees are as follows, unless posted otherwise (See specific event flyers for exceptions):

o Peewee (if 10 or more entries) $5 (with any adult entry)

this fee goes 100% to payout and is winner take all.

o Novice Youth are $30 including the $5 office fee
o Youth are $30 including the $5 office fee
o Novice Horse $35 including the $5 office fee

o Open is$45 including the $5 office fee

  • Only the next 10 runners in the main holding area and only the next 20 after that. If you are in either area before your number is to be there it is grounds for disqualification and no refund of entry or office fees will be given.

  • No tie outs no portable pens in parking lots.

  • Contestants will be charged $35 NSF Check fee for each check returned

    for non-payment each time returned.

  • Pick up all trash, manure, and shavings before leaving Riata. If your horse digs a hole please scoop the dirt back in to repair it.

  • $15 fine will be added to your next attendance at Riata if you choose to leave manure or holes.

  • Riata Winter Barrel Bonanza reserves the right to deny entry at its discretion. Riata Event Center LLC reserves the right to evict any person at any time. There will be no refund of fees if you are evicted for violence, vulgarity, cheating, or attempting to cheat.

  • Everyone winning a check must have a current W9 on file in order for Riata to release checks/winnings. NO EXCEPTIONS. Failure to submit a W9 at the competition will result in forfeiting of winnings. We DO NOT REISSUE CHECKS AFTER 3 MONTHS HAVE PASSED FROM THE EVENT DATE. W9 forms are posed on the website for your convenience under the Upcoming Events tab AND available at every event. Checks are void after 3 months.

  • We accept credit cards there is a $5 processing fee that will be added to your entry and office fees.
